FAQ

Can I get mainnet SOL?

No — faucets are testnet-only.

Rate-limited?

Each wallet address and IP gets one drip every 8 hours. Try again once that time has passed.

Is devnet SOL worth anything?

No.

How much can I request?

0.25, 0.5 or 1 SOL per request.

Do I need to sign anything?

No. Connect the wallet that should receive the SOL and request it.

Does it work on testnet?

Yes. Switch the top bar to Testnet and the request goes to Solana's public testnet faucet.

How long until the SOL arrives?

Usually a few seconds, and the balance updates on its own.

Is devnet permanent?

No. It's a sandbox, and its state is wiped from time to time.

How the faucet works

Solstack's wallet first

On devnet the request goes to a funded Solstack wallet, which sends 0.25, 0.5 or 1 SOL as an ordinary transfer you can look up.

Automatic fallback

If that wallet is empty or turns you down, the page asks Solana's public faucet, then the app's own RPC, with nothing for you to do.

Testnet too

With Testnet picked in the top bar, the request goes straight to Solana's public testnet faucet.

Once per 8 hours

Solstack's faucet sends to each wallet, and each IP address, once every 8 hours, and says roughly how long is left.

Nothing to sign

SOL goes to the connected wallet's address. Your balance shows before the request and refreshes once the SOL lands.

Mainnet refused

On Mainnet the request form is replaced by a notice, since mainnet SOL can't be airdropped.

Solana Devnet Faucet: Complete Guide

Why rehearse on devnet?

Every Solstack tool works identically on devnet — same forms, same batching, same review screen — so the faucet is the cheapest way to rehearse a multisend, a token creation or a launch before doing it for real.

Devnet SOL has no value and can't be swapped for anything; requests are rate-limited per address and IP to keep the tap flowing for everyone.

What test SOL is for

Devnet is a full Solana network where SOL has no value. Most Solstack tools work there exactly as they do on mainnet, with the same forms, review screen and batching. So you can rehearse creating a token with the SPL Token Creator, a send with the Solana Multisender or a lock with the Solana Token Locker before spending real SOL. Some tools, such as the Token Locker and the Launchpad, only run on devnet for now.

Where the SOL comes from

On devnet, the request goes to Solstack's own faucet first, a funded wallet that sends up to 1 SOL at a time. When that wallet is dry or you've reached its limit, the page tries Solana's public faucet instead. On testnet the public faucet is used directly. Nothing to sign: you're receiving, not sending.

Limits

  • Requests are limited per wallet and per IP address, roughly one every few hours. When you hit the limit, the message says about when to try again.
  • The public fallback has limits of its own and sometimes returns a generic error. Wait, or ask for a smaller amount.
  • Before your first request you're asked to follow Solstack on X and subscribe on YouTube. The faucet can't check either; opening each link marks it done in this browser.
  • Devnet SOL can't be moved to mainnet or swapped for anything.

Before you go to mainnet

A devnet rehearsal shows you the forms, the review screen and what each wallet popup asks you to sign, at no cost. It can't show real prices, liquidity or mainnet-only data such as the Token Inspector's market figures, and tokens and accounts you create on devnet don't carry over. When you're ready, switch the top bar to Mainnet and run the same flow with real SOL.
